Dwindling Intake Engineering Intakes are dwindling, particularly so in small cities and suburbs. When the prospects of engineering jobs was growing a number of engineering colleges mushroomed even at Taluka level places and now with the shrinking job market there is the crisis of their survival. Many colleges have closed down and the others are on the verge of closure. With the easy availability of admissions there is an exodus of students to big cities. Easy availability of scholarships and loans have lured many for engineering education and this easy entry has brought several problems in its wake.
